Franco Montesano

Fanny Dagenais-Dion
Fanny Dagenais-Dion is involved in the organization Lawyers Without Borders Canada, at first as a voluntary legal advisor and more recently as a consultant, where she works on projects about sexual violence in Latin America. She is particularly interested in the fight against gender-based violence, on which she will soon write her master’s thesis. David Vachon-Roseberry
Me David Vachon-Roseberry graduated from Laval University with specializations in criminal law, fundamental rights and freedoms and labor law. He is a generalist. After the Bar, he first worked in the police affairs of the Ministry of Public Security. He was then sworn as a lawyer and listed as a member of the Québec Bar in 2013 after his internship with the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions. Subsequently, the call of nature sent him to the far North of Quebec, where, based in Kuujjuaq he traveled frequently in the Inuit communities of Nunavik, especially to adress files related to hunting and fishing, housing, construction and intergovernmental relations. He brought his expertise to the Kativik Municipal Housing Office, then to Makivik where he also offered free legal advice to the Inuit of Nunavik. Three years later, Me Vachon-Roseberry came back to Quebec city, hi hometown to continue his graduate studies in law at Laval University and to work on his own, as wll as for the Fondation de la Faune (still at this day). Rainbow Miller
Beginning her career as a lawyer in 2006 with the Attorney General of Quebec, Esq. Rainbow Miller subsequently worked in the field of labor law within the human resources department of a CSSS where she worked more specifically on elder abuse issues. She subsequently worked in the area of refugee representation before the IRB.
Since 2010, she has been representing primarily First Nations people. She has accumulated many years of experience in representing victims of sexual abuse, accompanying many residential school survivors in their private P.E.I. hearings. To do so, she regularly traveled to Aboriginal communities to meet with her clients or represent them at their hearings.
In particular, she acted as counsel for the Quebec Native Women’s Association (QNW) before the Commission of Inquiry on Missing and Murdered Native Women (MMIWG) and before the Val-d’Or “Commission Viens” which were set up following tragic events of multiple abuse and disappearances of Aboriginal women. She is currently working with the Quebec Native Women’s Association (QNW) where she performs the duties of Justice and Public Security Coordinator. As part of her mandate, she works closely on the issue of sexual exploitation of Aboriginal girls and human trafficking, the needs of Aboriginal women in matters of family law and domestic violence. She also accompanied QNW President Viviane Michel when QNW appeared before the Committee of Experts on the Accompaniment of Victims of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence in Quebec.

Léa Pelletier-Marcotte was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2017. After articling at a major law firm in Montreal, she knew she wanted her career to have a more personal, human approach.
