Juripop and Multiple Sclerosis Canada – Quebec Division form partnership to offer free legal services

LAUNCH OF A LEGAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

MS Canada’s Quebec Division and Juripop launch a legal assistance service for people living with multiple sclerosis.

This new service is a natural fit with MS Canada’s mission to provide direct support and services to people living with multiple sclerosis, and Juripop’s mission to improve access to justice for all.

Finding answers to everyday legal needs

In Canada, about 12 people a day are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. People living with multiple sclerosis face specific legal challenges because of their medical condition. For example, they may face complex legal issues related to their health, employment, insurance or housing. This legal assistance service aims to meet these specific legal needs by providing tailored legal information and advice to help people with multiple sclerosis understand their rights and responsibilities.

Juripop’s lawyers and notaries will also be able to help people benefiting from the service to identify and combat any discrimination they may suffer because of their health condition. This service will therefore help to ensure the dignity and equality of people living with multiple sclerosis.

The project comes into effect today. This legal assistance is available for business law, family law, civil law and certain employment law issues, covering most of the legal needs of everyday life. Juripop’s team of lawyers and notaries will be able to offer legal information and advice to anyone living with multiple sclerosis who requests it, free of charge.

Juripop will be able to offer these services thanks to the financial support of MS Canada – Quebec Division.

“Multiple sclerosis is an incurable, complex and progressive disease that affects every aspect of a person’s life. When legal problems are added to everyday situations (taking medication, managing energy, medical appointments, ergonomic adaptations, and more), it’s important to be able to find help. That’s why the partnership between Juripop and Multiple Sclerosis Canada – Quebec Division is an essential addition to our organization’s program and service offering.” – Aminata Millaire, Senior Director, Services, Fundraising Events and Regional Relations, Multiple Sclerosis Canada – Quebec Division
