Juripop strengthens its board of directors

Three new members join the team already well established in its community

Juripop is pleased to welcome two new directors to its Board of Directors: Mtre. Félix Bernard, Mtre. Mariana Valente Mocelin and Ms. Cathy Wong. The arrival of these three new members on the Board strengthens the governance of the organization while ensuring a strengthened representation of the community.

Félix Bernard is a corporate lawyer who practiced with national firms before joining Langlois Avocats in Montreal in 2017, where he has been a partner since 2021. Félix participated in the creation and was director and secretary of the Fondation le Pont vers l’Autonomie which, between 2015 and 2021, financed the purchase and delivery of more than thirty robotic arms to people suffering from major degenerative diseases. He is also a director of the Cégep de Victoriaville Foundation, his hometown. Félix is a graduate in law from Laval University (LL.B.), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LL.M.) and a member of the Quebec Bar.

Mtre. Mariana Valente Mocelin provides local legal services as a notary and legal advisor to families and their loved ones. After studying law and practicing as a lawyer in her native Brazil, Mariana obtained a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Montreal and a graduate degree in notarial law from the University of Sherbrooke. She is fluent in French, English and Portuguese. Mariana succeeds Mtre. Sylvie Tremblay, Not. E., as the representative of the Chambre des notaires du Québec on the Board of Directors of Juripop.

Cathy Wong, a law graduate, is Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Official Languages at Telefilm Canada. She has dedicated the last ten years of her professional life to the challenges of inclusion and representation of diversities in the community, media, political, cultural, and institutional spheres. Elected as a city councillor in downtown Montreal in 2017, Cathy became the first person of Chinese descent to serve at City Hall and the first female president of City Council. A member of the City of Montreal’s Executive Committee, she was responsible for diversity, employment inclusion, French language, and anti-racism and anti-discrimination.
